🗺️ Zonal Rules: Are You a “Local” Candidate?
To get the local candidate benefits, you must have studied in that specific zone:
- Zone-II: Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam.
- Zone-III: East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna.
- Zone-IV: Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore.
- Zone-V: Chittoor, Cuddapah, Anantapur, Kurnool.
- Zone-VI: Khammam, Warangal, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Hyderabad, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda.
⚠️ Note: There are no jobs available for Zone-I in this notification. If you moved from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh between 2014 and 2024, you can still claim local status if you have the right government papers.
📝 The Exam Syllabus (100 Marks Total)
The online test lasts for 3 hours and is split into two parts:
- Part A: Engineering Subject (70 Marks): Questions directly from your own engineering branch (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or Civil).
- Part B: General Aptitude (30 Marks):
- Math / Quantitative Aptitude (8 Marks): Percentages, profit & loss, time & work, basic algebra, and geometry.
- General English (7 Marks): Grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
- Reasoning (5 Marks): Puzzles, coding, blood relations, and logic.
- General Knowledge (5 Marks): Current events, basic history, geography, and the Indian constitution.
- Computer Basics (5 Marks): How to use MS Office, the internet, and basic cybersecurity.
🔢 How the Final Ranks are Decided
- Fair Scoring: Since candidates will take the exam in different shifts, APGENCO will use a standard “normalization” formula to adjust the scores fairly.
- Tie-Breaker: If two people get the exact same score, the older person gets the higher rank. If their birthdays are also the same, the person with higher marks in their engineering degree wins the tie.
🚫 Mistakes That Will Get You Rejected
Your application will be canceled immediately if:
- You leave the form incomplete or give fake information.
- Your engineering degree is from a distance-learning program that is not approved by UGC or AICTE.
- You bring a phone, smartwatch, or any Bluetooth device into the exam room. Cheating leads to a permanent ban from all future government exams.
