- → Master's Degree in concerned/allied subject with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade point scale) from a recognized Indian or Foreign University.
- → Must have qualified UGC NET, CSIR NET, SLET, or SET in the relevant subject.
- → Candidates awarded a Ph.D. degree compliant with UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 (and subsequent amendments) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
- → A relaxation of 5% in marks (50% instead of 55%) at the Master's level is admissible for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and PwBD candidates of UP, as well as Ph.D. degree holders who completed Master's prior to 19 September 1991.
- → Candidates for Art, Music Vocal, and Music Instrumental streams can also qualify as traditional/professional artists holding a Bachelor's degree with outstanding professional achievements.
- → Maximum age limit is 62 years as on 01 July 2026.
