The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme (PMIS 3.0) is a massive youth-focused initiative by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The scheme connects fresh graduates, diploma holders, and class 10th/12th pass outs with 12-month practical internships in India's top 500 companies. With the newly upgraded 2026 guidelines, selected interns will receive an increased monthly stipend of ₹9,000 alongside an initial cash assistance grant.

Eligibility Criteria

→ Must be an Indian citizen aged between 18 and 25 years
→ Must have passed 10th, 12th, ITI, Poly-technic Diploma, or Graduation (B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, B.E, B.Tech, etc.)
→ Must not be currently engaged in full-time formal employment
→ Must not be enrolled in a regular, full-time academic college course (Distance education students are eligible)
→ Annual family income must not exceed ₹12 Lakhs
→ No family member should be a permanent government employee

Yes, graduates with degrees like B.E., B.Tech, B.B.A., and B.C.A. are fully eligible to apply. However, individuals with elite professional qualifications like IIT, IIMS, IISER, CA, CMA, CS, or MBBS are explicitly ineligible for this specific scheme.

What happens at the end of the 12-month internship period?▾
